The University at Buffalo's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free program offered to all of our faculty and staff members and their families. We do not provide counseling, but we serve as a link between members of our University community and many professional skilled counseling, medical, and allied resources within the local and regional area. We can provide assistance with most problems, regardless of size or complexity of the issues. All contacts with EAP are strictly confidential. Our EAP staff deals with a wide range of issues including:
- Assistance with family related problems,
- Emotional or physical illness, alcohol and other drug related problems,
- Information on resources for child care, elder care, legal and financial support services, or
- Legal referrals
The program is available to you and your family members 24-hours, 7-days a week and continues to be available after you retire. During non-traditional business hours, calls are routed through an answering service and forwarded to on-call personnel.
EAP and Student Helplines
As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure campus emergency preparedness, UB is engaged in an effort to help campus community members identify potentially dangerous situations, and receive and communicate critical safety information through the appropriate university channels. Toward this end, UB has compiled a comprehensive list of the resources available for consultation and referral when concerns arise about students, faculty, or staff who may pose a threat to themselves or others. Clery Reporting Requirements
The purpose of the Clery report is to provide our faculty, staff and students with campus safety information including crime statistics and procedures to follow to report a crime. The annual report is prepared by the University Police Department and is electronically available at www.upolice.buffalo.edu. Any questions regarding this report should be directed to the Chief of University Police, at Bissell Hall, or by telephone (716) 645-2229 or by e-mail at stu-upolice@buffalo.edu.
This report focuses on University programs, properties and facilities owned or controlled by the University. UB has campuses located within the City of Buffalo and Town of Amherst, and each municipality has law enforcement agencies and maintains crime statistics.
