Our goal is to efficiently and effectively provide human resource services that are valued by the University community. We have redesigned key HR processes, and implemented new technology to improve our timeliness and service.
We are investing in new strategic functions that will provide expanded professional development opportunities, increase access to services, improve quality, and make UB a better place to work.
Below you will find summaries of some of the systems, resources, and tools we are implementing.
The Electronic Personnel Transaction Form system, or ePTF, is a completely secure, online system through which you can instantaneously transmit new hire information, changes in faculty or staff information, requests for pay increases, changes of appointment, and other important personnel transactions.
ePTF ensures that the personnel transaction process is faster, easier, and safer; and that personnel transactions are more accurate.

The University at Buffalo utilizes a number of online tools and e-learning systems to serve our students, faculty, and staff. University Human Resources understands that it can be difficult to make time to attend training sessions - yet professional development and opportunities to develop new knowledge, skills, and abilities is of paramount importance.
Human Resources is investing in tools that will allow us to create high impact e-learning courses at a fraction of the cost of traditional online learning development costs. These e-learning modules will be used as stand-alone training tools to save valuable time, as introductions to professional development subjects taught in classrooms, and as options for post class review.

When the right people, with the right skills, are placed in the right environment, the result is unparallelled success. One of our highest priorities, as a Human Resources unit and as a broader University, is to ensure that our faculty and staff have the tools they need to be successful. No where is this more significant than in our organizational development efforts.
Our Organizational Development & Training function has been charged to develop and implement professional development programs to impact all levels of our workforce across all of our campuses. Leadership and management development, UB business processes, new hire orientation, workplace skills, computer applications, career management, effective communication, and performance excellence are only a few of the categories of learning offered.

The plan to grow significantly in our pursuit of excellence makes it more important than ever for UB to be a great place to work. Through our various campus communities and leaders, we are engaged in an effort to build the foundation of a truly great workplace: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
