| Public Access to Defibrillation Program (AED) |
|
Every day in the United States 850 people die from cardiac arrest. Survival rates are dramatically increased when CPR is started immediately and when an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used. The University at Buffalo has installed AED devices in all campus buildings. All of our employees need to become familiar with the AED devices, know where to find them, and understand the steps to take in case of a cardiac emergency.
This 20 minute course will help you to become familiar with the AED and an overview of cardiac emergency preparedness. This course is intended for all members of the University community: faculty, staff, and students.
