Tools for Professional Networking Series
This networking series is broken up into two classes: Make Professional Networking Events Count and LinkedIn: A Tool for Professional Networking. You can choose to take one or both of the sessions to enhance your professional networking skills. Click on the topic you are interested in for course details and registration information:

Make Professional Networking Events Count

In this session we will offer insights into networking at professional meetings and events, how to overcome networking challenges and maintain contacts after a meeting. Participants will have an opportunity to practice introduction techniques learned in the session.

You'll Benefit By Learning To

  • Identify if your style is more introverted or extraverted, and how that impacts networking
  • Understand the benefits of networking for the organization and your career
  • Better prepare for a networking event
  • Become more comfortable in various networking situations
  • Use conversational tips, introduce others and join in group discussions

LinkedIn: A Tool for Professional Networking

In this hands on class in our computer lab, we’ll look at the networking site LinkedIn and learn how to set up and manage your personal profile and to use LinkedIn as a tool to achieve your goals. We’ll give you tips on how to use LinkedIn to be more productive at your job, as well as the various ways to maintain your contacts.

You'll Benefit By Learning To

  • Understand the value of LinkedIn for professionals
  • Set up a LinkedIn profile, and keep it up to date
  • Use the various tools and features of LinkedIn
  • Maintain a connection once it is made
